Conversations on Archival and Collection Care Practices

This two-day symposium, taking place on July 4–5, 2025, at Alliance Française de Katmandou, Lalitpur, brings together individuals and initiatives rooted in long-term, research-based, and collaborative archival practices across Nepal and its borders. The gathering offers a space to share experiences and encounters that have shaped how histories, narratives, and stories are remembered, cared for, and reimagined.

The first day will open with an interaction and screening session reflecting on Kalā Kulo’s experience working with the artist estate of Lain Singh Bangdel. The second day will feature two moderated panels with three presenters each, focusing on a range of themes related to archival practices—including the histories of modernity, migration, border, and belonging.

Participation is open to all.
Please RSVP here.

This is an in-person program. Recordings of the panel discussions will be uploaded to our YouTube channel later.

More information coming soon.

This project is supported by the Archiving Grant from Art South Asia Project (ASAP).
